Most undergraduate programmes require IELTS 6.0 overall (no band below 5.5). Postgraduate programmes typically need 6.5 (no band below 6.0). Programmes like Medicine, Nursing, Teaching and Law require 7.0–7.5.

Most online Fee-Paying Student Visa applications from Pakistan are processed in 6–10 weeks. Apply at least 3 months before your course start date.

You must show NZD 20,000 per year of living funds (Immigration NZ requirement, 2025) plus your tuition fee. A scholarship covering living costs can be used in lieu of the bank statement.

Yes — most international students can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full-time during scheduled holidays. PhD and Master's by research students may work full-time year-round.

After graduation you can apply for an open Post-Study Work Visa for 1, 2 or 3 years depending on the qualification level (NZQF level and length of study). It allows you to work for any employer in any field.

Generally, you must complete a qualification at NZQF Level 7 (Bachelor's) or higher with at least 30 weeks of study, OR a Level 4–6 qualification with at least 60 weeks of study, to qualify for the Post-Study Work Visa.
